Sustainability

Sustainability is ‘in’ – but for us this has been the case since our establishment in 1947. As a family business, we are committed to maintaining a balanced relationship between economic success, social responsibility and environmental awareness.

This commitment is common to all our company sites and divisions – not only in Europe, but also in the Middle East and Asia. We actively invest in the training and further education of our employees. Most notably, we train our staff according to our specific needs, and employ people who are truly committed to their work. Meanwhile, our company safety programme makes our employees aware of potential issues and teaches them how to handle chemical and petrochemical products safely.

Likewise, we don’t avoid our social responsibilities. The LIGHT Foundation demonstrates our commitment to acting on behalf of disadvantaged children and young people in Germany, Russia and a number of other countries.

This commitment pays off in a number of ways. In particular, we register solid, year-on-year growth, allowing us to invest in our sites and equipment. Furthermore, our staff members regard us as an employer with high quality and safety standards and a company with excellent prospects. We have received various honours for our committed approach, including the Independent German Hazardous Materials Prize, accepted on behalf of the company by Armin Talke.
