Emilia Poljakov new chairwoman of DSLV’s dangerous goods committee
- Emilia Poljakov is successor to long-time chairman Claus-Dieter Helmke
- Dr. Thomas Arenz and Peter Schmidt confirmed as deputy chairmen
Emilia Poljakov, who has worked as dangerous goods officer for ALFRED TALKE since November 2012, was elected as chairwoman of the German Freight Forwarding and Logistics Association’s (DSLV’s) dangerous goods committee. She is following in the footsteps of Claus-Dieter Helmke (DHL Freight), the chairman of many years. Dr. Thomas Arenz of Heinrich Scheren Spedition and Peter Schmidt of Kühne & Nagel were confirmed as deputy chairmen.
ALFRED TALKE has been involved in the DSLV dangerous goods committee constantly for many years now. “For us, maximum safety when handling the materials entrusted to us takes top priority,” says Poljakov. “Our commitment to dealing responsibly with dangerous goods, even beyond our own company’s interests, to spreading know-how and to exchanging information with others is simply natural to us.”
“I see Emilia Poljakov’s election as a sign of appreciation for our company’s high safety and quality standards, and especially of our dangerous goods officer’s personal commitment,” group managing director Alfred Talke stresses. “She provides outstanding support in achieving our goal of guaranteeing the highest level of safety for people and the environment at all times.”
ALFRED TALKE is one of the global leaders in logistics for the chemical and petrochemical industry. The company has voluntarily committed to the high standards of the international Responsible Care progamme for the chemical industry and is a member of the Green Freight Europe Initiative, which spans across all industries.
