TALKE donates to FischNET, a Hürth-based advice centre

Collaborative support for young people in need of careers advice: Alfred Talke, of the logistics company with the same name, hands over a cheque for €10,000 to Hürth Mayor Dirk Breuer.

The “LIGHT Foundation” belonging to logistics provider TALKE donates €10,000 to the Hürth-based advice centre FischNET.

“Both the young people’s career service and our LIGHT Foundation have a common goal – that of improving young people’s long-term living conditions and sharing opportunities and prospects with them,” says Alfred Talke, Group Managing Director, in explaining the reasons for the company’s involvement. “We are pleased to be supporting this important local project with our donation.”

The advice centre assists young people in the process of identifying a career in order to improve their chances of locating a job, an apprenticeship or an internship. The service, which includes help with preparing application materials, training in applications, and identifying career-relevant soft skills, is provided free of charge to teenagers and young adults aged up to 27.

Mayor Dirk Breuer says, “We are grateful to supporters like TALKE, who see involvement of this type as part of their corporate social responsibility, for enabling us to support the services provided by bodies like FischNET, with its special provision for young people.” He accepted the symbolic cheque on behalf of the service on Monday.

The helpline is sponsored by a church body, the Katholische Jugendagentur Köln gGmbH. It is funded by the German Federal Agency for Employment, the town of Hürth, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cologne and private supporters.
