The responsible body for gathering data is ALFRED TALKE GmbH & Co. KG, Max-Planck-Strasse 20, 50354 Hürth, represented by ALFRED TALKE Verwaltungsgesellschaft mbH, which is represented by the managing directors Alfred Talke, Markus Glöckler and Christoph Grunert (hereafter referred to as “TALKE”).

Below we explain the information that we collect during your visit to the TALKE website and how it is used.

Personal data

Personal data encompasses individual details about personal or business relations of an identified or identifiable individual. This includes personal information such as your name, address, telephone number and date of birth. Information that cannot be directly associated with your real identity (e.g. favourite websites, number of visitors to a site) is not classed as personal data.

What information is collected?

Personal details such as your name, your address, telephone number or e-mail address are not recorded when you visit our website, unless you provide this information to us voluntarily. Such voluntary provision comes into consideration for example within the context of a survey, a competition, when executing a contract or requesting information. You can also provide us with personal data voluntarily when you make contact with TALKE by e-mail.

To the extent that you provide us with personal data, this personal data will be saved and processed in accordance with the relevant provisions of the German Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the Telemedia Act (TMG). By providing the data, you agree to your data being saved and the data provided by you being used in the way described below by TALKE. Data will only be stored within the Federal Republic of Germany.

If you send us a request by e-mail, your e-mail address and - if applicable - other personal data provided by you in the e-mail will be stored by us.

By visiting our website, data about you will be collected that is described in more detail in the chapter Web-based data capture. In this chapter, we also specify how you can prevent web-based data capture and/or object to the saving of your data.

What happens to the data?

We will only use the personal data provided by you for the purpose of the technical administration of the websites and to complete your request.

We will only us this data for product-related surveys and marketing purposes if you have given us your prior consent or – to the extent that statutory provisions provide for this – if you have not raised any objection.

We will not pass on, sell or otherwise transfer your personal data to third parties!

After your request has been completed, after the termination of a business relationship or after the termination of a campaign organised by us during which a voluntary provision of personal information has been made, the information provided by you will be blocked from further use and deleted following the expiry of the tax law and commercial law provisions, provided that you have not expressly approved the further use of your data.

If you would like to be included in an e-mail distribution list to receive the newsletter sent by our company, we need an e-mail address where you can be contacted as well as information that permits verification that you are the owner of the e-mail address stated or that the owner of the e-mail address agrees to receive messages sent by us. The verification takes place within the scope of a “double opt-in” procedure. Here, the sender of an e-mail address receives a message asking them to confirm that the relevant e-mail address should be included in the newsletter distribution list. Other data is not collected.

Use of Cookies

These internet pages use cookies in several places. Cookies are small text files that are logged on your computer and which your browser stores. This allows information relating to you, the user, to be stored on your PC whilst you visit one of our websites. Cookies help in ascertaining the frequency of usage and the number of users of a webpage, as well as assisting in designing the website in a way that is most convenient and efficient for you.

We use “session cookies” which temporarily store information for the duration of your visit to one of our websites. Session cookies are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. We also use permanent cookies in order to store information about users who are frequent visitors to one or more of our sites. The purpose of using these cookies is to provide you with optimum user guidance and also to help us recognise you when you return so that we can offer you maximum variety and new content. The content of a permanent cookie is restricted to an identification number. Names, IP addresses, etc. are not stored, nor do we construct individual profiles of your usage behaviour.

It is also possible to use our website without cookies. You can change your browser settings to disable cookies, restrict them to certain sites or configure your browser to alert you whenever a cookie is sent. Please note, however, that applying such settings may affect the way in which the website is displayed or limit user guidance.

Cookies do not cause any harm to your computer, nor do they contain viruses.

This website uses Piwik, a piece of open-source software for statistical analysis of visits to the website. Piwik creates detailed statistics about visitors to a website. The Piwik analysis software is used to determine and save information about the search engines you use, the search terms you use, the languages used, the origin of visitors by country, the browser used and its plug-ins, the referrer, time spent on the site, visitors’ entry and exit pages, drop-out rates and the length of time spent on our website. The information is only used for the analysis of the number of visitors.

Piwik uses cookies, which are text files that are stored on your computer and which enable your use of the website to be analysed. The information generated by the cookie concerning your use of this website is stored on TALKE’S server in the Federal Republic of Germany. The IP address will be anonymised by the AnonymizeIP plug-in immediately after processing and before it is stored.

As part of the visitor recognition process, Piwik uses a heuristic that attempts to identify a visitor with a previous visit by taking certain data into account. In particular, this includes the IP address, the resolution, the browser, the plug-ins used and the operating system. This data is combined and allocated to a hash value. This heuristic is intended to recognise visitors if no cookie is stored on their computer.

The heuristic uses the full IP address internally. However, the IP address is not processed and saved in isolation. The IP address is not used to analyse usage behaviour as part of this use process; it is used only to create the pseudonym. The IP address is linked to other data and fed into a hash value.

You can prevent cookies being installed by using the corresponding setting in your browser software. However, we draw to your attention the fact that you may not be able to fully use all the functions of this website in this situation.

TALKE applies the full range of technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal data from loss or misuse. Your data is stored in a secure operating environment that is not accessible to the public.

If you wish to communicate with TALKE by e-mail, we draw your attention to the fact that the confidentiality of information transmitted in this way cannot be guaranteed. It is possible for third parties to view the content of e-mails. We therefore recommend that you send us confidential information only by post.
