The success of any business depends on a balanced relationship between economic success, social responsibility and environmental awareness. We have stood by this conviction for 65 years.

Efficiently using resources and ensuring that our services have the smallest possible impact on the environment – it all sounds very modern, but has in fact been one of TALKE’s guiding principles since its establishment. This is because this principle not only reflects our understanding of ourselves as a responsible, owner-led family business; it is also an operating principle that allows us to work for our customers with extreme efficiency.

With a view to using international knowledge transfer to support our work regarding health, safety and the environment, TALKE is an active member of the chemical industry’s Responsible Care initiative, as well as of Green Freight Europe. Through our commitment to these initiatives, we would like to learn how to use natural resources as efficiently as possible at our sites and within our vehicle fleets.

Documenting our reduced influence on the climate and the environment

We are continually striving to minimise the environmental impact of our operations – by using resources efficiently and reducing waste, for example. We publish information regarding our success in this area in – among other things – our Corporate Carbon Footprint Report for our European sites. This report reveals that TALKE reduced the average CO2 emissions of its vehicle fleet by 9.5% between 2010 and 2011, for instance. We achieved this by purchasing lorries with state-of-the-art drive technology on the one hand, and by putting our staff through behaviour-based safety training on the other. This also teaches them how to drive more efficiently, i.e. in a more economical and environmentally friendly manner.
