1947 to 1956: The early days
After the Second World War, the Silesian carpenter Alfred Talke Sr. laid the foundations for the transport company TALKE in Hürth. Originally specializing in transporting coal for the chemical industry, TALKE adapted to the technological advances in the chemical industry and developed into a key partner in chemical logistics.

1957 to 1966: Growth and adjustments
TALKE is undergoing significant developments, driven by the global economic upturn and technological progress. The company responds to the rapid growth by expanding its premises. During this time, the importance of oil in the region also increases, marked by the construction of the first German oil pipeline, which has a significant impact on the local industrial landscape.

1968 to 1975: Expansion and innovation
TALKE experiences significant changes and growth. The relocation of the headquarters to Kalscheuren in 1973 and the expansion with new locations in Stade and Ludwigshafen underline the growing importance of TALKE in chemical logistics. 1975 marks a milestone with the construction of a logistics center in Cologne-Niehl, which sets new standards in intermodal transport services.

1987 to 1995: Expansion within Europe
The late 1980s are an exciting time, both politically and economically. For TALKE, the road to Europe begins in 1987: with TALKE Forwarding NV, we establish our first foreign subsidiary in Antwerp. We also take over the Belgian transport company Louis de Jongh in nearby Kallo.
